MICROSOFT DIRECTX® 9.0c

›› ATTENTION: You should follow the below instructions if the ArcPORT 2 installer warned you that the Microsoft DirectX 9.0c component is missing from your computer or if instructed to do so by Transoft Solutions Technical Support.

Microsoft DirectX® is a group of technologies designed to make Windows-based computers an ideal platform for running and displaying applications rich in multimedia elements such as full-color graphics, video, 3D animation, and rich audio. ArcPORT requires version 9.0c in order to operate.

Microsoft DirectX 9.0c Installation

  1. Download the directx_Jun2010_redist.exe file to the computer where ArcPORT is installed.
  2. Run the directx_Jun2010_redist.exe file.

UPGRADING FROM ARCPORT 1

To upgrade from ArcPORT version 1 to 2.1, a new License Number and CD Key is required. Please contact our Technical Support team (web form: www.transoftsolutions.com/technical-support or email: supportaviation@transoftsolutions.com) if you do not have this information on file.

Once you have your License Number and CD Key, follow the Standalone or Network steps outlined above to complete the installation. Thereafter, see Authorization and Custom User Settings and Project Migration, below.

AUTHORIZATION

On initial program load and on subsequent loads until ArcPORT 2.1 is authorized, the Program Authorization dialog box appears prompting for your Authorization Key.

To Authorize ArcPORT

  1. If you are connected to the Internet, click Request Authorization (preferred method).
    • Note: If you are behind a firewall, you will need to configure it to allow ArcPORT to have access to the Internet.
  2. The User Information dialog box displays. Fill in required information.
    • Note: In the Registered Email box, type the email address of the person in whose name ArcPORT was purchased.
  3. Click OK, and ArcPORT will get authorized automatically.

OR

3. If for some reason automatic online authorization cannot be performed, you will be directed to a web page where you will be required to fill in contact information to request an Authorization Key.

4. Click Submit. An email containing the Authorization Key will be sent to the email address you supplied.

°    Alternatively, you can contact Transoft Solutions with the information displayed in this dialog box to receive your Authorization Key.

5. Once you have received the Authorization Key, type it in the Authorization Key box, and then click OK.

CUSTOM USER SETTINGS AND PROJECT MIGRATION

On initial program load, ArcPORT 2.1 will detect if you have an existing ArcPORT 1 installation on your computer. If so, you will be prompted to migrate your custom user settings and Projects. We therefore recommend that you do not uninstall ArcPORT 1, until you have completed this data migration process.

NOTE: You will only be prompted to migrate your custom user settings once.

NOTE: The Project Migration Utility can be launched from the Windows® Start menu at any time.

NOTE: Once ArcPORT 2.1 has been installed and authorized, and data migrated from the existing ArcPORT 1 installation, all ArcPORT 1 installations must be uninstalled.
