New Standard Design Vehicles Available Now

Transoft Solutions — developers of advanced transportation engineering software, is proud to be the first in the industry to be releasing the AASHTO 2011 National Standard Design Vehicle Library. Now you can work on projects that require the new standards right away.

The AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials) Technical Committee requested Transoft Solutions’ assistance in building the new standard vehicles and in performing detailed quality assurance testing during the development phase and post-release.

Working closely with AASHTO, Transoft Solutions contributed to the turning characteristics, kinematic model algorithms, and vehicle steering geometry of the standard design vehicles found in the new 2011 Green Book (A Policy on Geometric Design of Highways and Streets, 6th Edition, 2011).

The AASHTO 2011 standard design vehicle library has undergone several changes. Older type vehicles have been removed and new ones added. In addition, vehicle design characteristics and specifications have been revised with the latest values.
