ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We currently have an opening for an Accountant at our office in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.  This is an exciting opportunity for a financial professional who wants to develop with a rapidly growing company. The EMEA region is an important market for Transoft and we have been expanding rapidly into many European countries. Working under the guidelines of the Senior Accountant, this role performs accounting functions for our offices in Europe with precision and timeliness. The accountant is an essential member of the trans-border finance team, helping to ensure all financial information is prepared, analysed and reported accurately and timely.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Verifying and coding vendors’ invoices, preparing accounting batches for vendors’/intercompany invoices processing
• Monitoring payment schedules, providing timely and accurate information for payments to be executed, communicating with vendors in case of any questions/issues
• Providing accounting information for Tax, VAT or any other regulatory filling
• Reviewing bank statement transactions on a daily basis for proper GL allocation
• Perform Accounts Receivables tasks including reviewing daily sales invoices, preparing cash receipts batches, applying payments to receivables, monitoring receivables on a regular basis
• Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
• Assist Senior Accountant with month-end closing and year-end working papers
• Perform related accounting tasks as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or any other relevant post-secondary education
• At least 3 years of experience in full cycle bookkeeping experience
• Knowledge of Dutch GAAP
• Intermediate experience with MS Excel
• Working knowledge of computerized accounting systems; knowledge and experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP and/or Business Central an asset

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

• Learn and retain accounting information, terminology, policies and procedures
• Take initiative and deal effectively with situations; work well under pressure
• Process high volume of transactions and meet deadlines
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively, respectfully, and tactfully
• Good command of English and Dutch
• Good organizational and facilitation skills as well as be trustworthy, detailed, accurate, and analytical. Must be able to keep sensitive information confidential.
• Good team player as well as ability to work independently.
