We currently have an opening for an IT Systems Administrator at our office in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. This is an exciting opportunity for an IT professional who wants to develop with a rapidly growing company. The EMEA region is an important market for Transoft and we have been expanding rapidly with offices in Germany, the UK and Belgium.

The System Admin ensures that Transoftees can continue to do what they do best. Accountable to the IT Manager (at our head office in Vancouver), you will be responsible for IT services within the EMEA region (and other regions as required) by delivering operational and functional support to Transoft’s network and helpdesk. Applying industry best practices, you will ensure system availability and reliability while strategically seeking out improvements to compliment or enhance existing systems and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the Helpdesk responds professionally to user requests within service level objectives.
  • Participate in 24/7 monitoring and support of production resources.
  • Ensure company data and critical systems are protected against threats like failures, theft and fire.
  • Proactively monitor all critical systems to identify problems before they result in failures.
  • Provide office support for phone, conferencing and office access control.
  • Create and manage IT Documentation.
  • Working with IT Management to identify opportunities to promote business innovation through the successful implementation of technology.
  • Provide project support as directed by the IT Manager.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
  • Industry certifications like: MCITP, MCTS, MCSE, CCNA, Network+, Security+.
  • At least 3 years of IT Systems Admin experience in a 100+ network user environment.
  • At least 3 years of experience deploying and managing MS-Windows Servers (2012 and later).
  • At least 1-year experience administering a virtual environment (VMWare and/or Hyper-V).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Through observation, you exercise deductive reasoning in diagnostics and troubleshooting, using best practices to solve problems. You notice all the details and you have demonstrated an ability to troubleshoot, analyze and research, and develop solutions to problems.
  • You are customer focused and can manage multiple priorities and customer demands, working towards targets that will improve the overall quality of IT Services.
  • You intuitively find, explore, develop and present information on best practices to management and customers in order to meet current and/or future needs.
  • You have a good command of the English language and can communicate effectively, respectfully, and tactfully. You understand that listening is an important part of communication and very important part of customer service We would consider the fact that you can speak other European languages a big plus.
  • You have applied skills in IT hardware, software and services from laptops to servers, switches and routers. You possess strong DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, Active Directory and Group Policy administration skills; Windows Server and Desktop administration skills; and MS Office skills.
  • You keep up with technology and best practices. You know that independent learning benefits you and Transoft.
  • You are a highly organized and highly detailed-oriented, self-motivated, team and goal-oriented individual. You thrive in a team and understand matrix environments.
  • You can handle flexible work hours, understanding that the time differences between Rotterdam and Vancouver may require work hours outside of a normal schedule from time to time. You are available after-hours as needed for maintenance, project work or emergencies.
  • You can lift computer equipment as needed (up to 7kgs).
