ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Software Developer, Web Services at our head office in Richmond, BC. Under the general direction of the Director, DevOps, and in close collaboration with a cross functional team, the Software Developer, Web Services is responsible for receiving and analyzing task requests and assisting with the development, maintenance and operation of web-based applications and components including CRM.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Receive and analyze requests related to web services development from internal and external stakeholders.
• Record, track, and estimate tasks with the help of the Web and CRM team.
• Execute projects using Transoft’s software development processes.
• Drive, design, develop, deploy and maintain our SaaS software products.
• Drive, design, develop, deploy and maintain our CRM system, customizations and supporting services.
• Provide technical CRM support for users.
• Work with team members and Development to upkeep all web related information, technology and software.
• Assist team members in troubleshooting and resolving problems related to our website, applications and all other web components.
• Assist with Technical Support when required.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

• Self-motivated and driven to be successful in the workplace and in life.
• Able to track, estimate, prioritize and implement many tasks in parallel with multiple different requestors
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively, respectfully, and tactfully.
• Excellent problem-solving skills to identify issues and solve them tactfully.
• Possess analytical skills to gather and review information.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Interested in keeping up to date with web technology.
• Must be able to work evenings and/or weekends as needed, to provide scheduled maintenance or emergency repairs (to minimize disruptions during business hours).

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• A minimum bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related fields.
• Expertise developing web-based applications using:
• C#, WCF, ASP.NET, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery
• MSSQL, MySQL, JSON and/or Mongo DB
• Experience with other Web development technologies such as Node.js, PHP, Silverlight, Google API, etc.
• Experience with Ecommerce, shopping cart and payment systems
• CMS sites such as WordPress, Drupal and/or Joomla
• Working knowledge of OO principles, UML diagrams, UI design and software life cycle tools.
• Experience working in an agile environment.
