We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Software Development Manager at our office in Bangalore, India to manage the design, development, and deployment of Transoft’s products, and oversee and support our local technical team.

The Software Development Manager is accountable to the VP, APAC and the VP of Software Development to:

  • Coordinate and prioritize the assignment of the software developers, QA Analysts and Technical Support staff,
  • Project planning, execution, and stewardship of project leaders in the use of agile sprints to ensure individual objectives and commitments are being delivered on time,
  • Analyze, estimate, and establish annual department plans to meet the software development projects,
  • Develop, mentor, and grow developers’ skills to broaden opportunities for each to expand and advance professionally,
  • Hire and onboard new talent; monitor the transition into the Transoft culture,
  • Analyze software development processes to assess and find opportunities to improve internal operational procedures,
  • Collaborate with Corporate DevOps and other ancillary partners to ensure alignment of priorities and functionality towards department objectives.

The Software Development Manager is responsive to the Business Unit leaders to:

  • Communicate and maintain tempo on the specific BUs’ new software products, product updates, and required support and software fixes,
  • Help BUs shape their strategic plans by providing advice and direction on new software products and features.
  • Partner with BU product managers in looking at new software product opportunities to meet new markets and/or applications.


You not only have the experience, drive and creativity in developing innovative and quality software product for a broad base of users, you have also led teams to success. You understand the principles of agile software development and can plan, design and implement features efficiently in a fast-paced work environment. You have a practical knowledge of object-oriented design and implementation, have programmed graphics applications in C++, and are experienced with CAD platforms such as AutoCAD and MicroStation. You want to lead, mentor and manage a group of dedicated software professionals and get on board with a fast growing, leading edge and competitive software company.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, engineering or related fields.
  • 5+ years of experience managing an agile software development team.
  • 5+ years of experience working directly with North American colleagues and project stakeholders.
  • 10+ years of experience with C++. 5 or more years of experience in SQL, .NET and WPF. Working knowledge of web application development.
  • 4+ years of experience with web development technologies (ASP.NET, Node.js, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Experience developing software in 2D and 3D graphics environments and have worked with graphics APIs in the past.
  • Experience or with Civil Engineering tools such as Civil 3D, Geopak or Inroads is an asset.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership skills. Ability to organize and motivate a diverse team of individuals.
  • A strong software development background is essential: Familiar with Product Development Lifecycles; Expert in software Design and Architecture and programming best practices; Ability to understand complex technical problems and give sound advice to the dev team; Ability to quickly read and understand code.
  • Basic understanding of our user’s need and challenges working in the civil and transportation industry, ideally having experience with CAD products.
  • Experience in both desktop and web development environments.
  • Experience in deadline-driven Agile project management.
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to work effectively with team members and stakeholders from many different professional backgrounds and technical knowledge.
  • Ability to bridge the cultural gap between Indian and North American working styles.
