Mr. Milton Carrasco is the co-Founder and CEO of Transoft Solutions, Inc. In 1991, the company launched AutoTURN which was borne from his master’s thesis “Computerized Vehicle-Turning Simulation: An Interactive Application”.
Mr. Carrasco spent 15 years working as a transportation engineer at several engineering consulting firms. His engineering experience includes the design of a variety of transportation infrastructure including freeways and expressways, traffic impact studies and numerous other transportation planning projects. He has been a member of the Geometric Design Committees at both, the Transportation Association of Canada and the Transportation Research Board. Through direct involvement, Mr. Carrasco has helped strengthen Canada’s ties to leading international agencies such as AASHTO, FHWA, and Austroads. He has led the company, since its inception in 1991, to become one of the top transportation software company in the world, with a staff of 170 people operating out of 13 offices around the world.
Mr. Carrasco holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Civil Engineering from the University of Southampton, UK and completed his M.Eng. at the University of Calgary, Alberta.
Mr. Daniel Shihundu joined Transoft Solutions in 2007 as a Senior Civil Engineer and oversaw the forming of Transoft’s first Product Management team and was quickly promoted within the company. He has held various positions at Transoft Solutions throughout the years including that of Manager, Director, Vice President and Senior Vice President of Civil & Transportation. In his current position as President, Mr. Shihundu is responsible for overseeing the company’s revenue-generating operations, developing company strategies and goals, executing mergers and acquisitions and sustaining the company’s culture.
Mr. Shihundu is a registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia, Canada and South Africa with over 20 years’ experience in the engineering consulting sector in Africa and Canada. Mr. Shihundu is a graduate of the University of Nairobi and holds an M.B.A. from the School of Management at the University of the Free State in South Africa.
Mr. Steven Cheng joined Transoft Solutions in 1998. He was appointed to Vice President, Software Development and Technology in 2005 and Chief Operating Officer in 2016. He has 35 years’ experience in software development and a proven track record in advance software design, research and development, and management of technology companies. Mr. Cheng is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the business and its subsidiaries. He also establishes policies that promote company culture and vision.
Mr. Cheng holds a B.Sc. from University of British Columbia and M.Math. from University of Waterloo.
Mr. Robyn Kruger joined Transoft Solutions in 2015 as Vice President, Finance. With over 20 years of investment banking and financial consulting experience, he is responsible for all aspects of Transoft’s financial management including financial reporting, planning & analysis, finance operations, and taxation. Mr. Kruger works closely with the Executive Team in areas such as market analysis, corporate processes, mergers & acquisitions, privacy and compliance.
Prior to joining Transoft, Mr. Kruger held various senior management positions in both the private and public sectors including JP Morgan. He is a CPA, CMA and holds a B.A., and an M.B.A. from the Henley Business School (University of Reading).
Mr. Peter McIntyre is responsible for Transoft Solutions’ APAC growth strategy, overseeing the go-to-market efforts, business development, and strategic direction for the region. He is an accomplished leader and industry veteran with nearly 20 years of sales, marketing and operations experience in software.
Before joining Transoft Solutions in 2006, Mr. McIntyre held positions at SingTel Optus and Autodesk. He holds a B.App.Sc. in Environmental Design from University of Canberra, M.Des.Sc. (Design Computing) from the University of Sydney and GradDip (Business) from Deakin University.
Mr. van Leest joined the company when Transoft Solutions acquired Simtra in 2014. Mr. van Leest was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2019 and oversees an ever-expanding aviation team that operates in several cities across the world. Mr. van Leest was responsible for merging AeroTURN and PathPlanner into AviPLAN. In 2016, he was tasked with taking the ArcPORT technology on board and two years later, he lead the acquisition and subsequent integration of the Airtopsoft company, including their renowned AirTOP fast time simulation software.
Mr. van Leest graduated as a Civil Engineer (M.Sc.) from Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands and is member of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Aircraft/Airport Compatibility Committee, AV070.
Mr. Alex Brozek joined Transoft Solutions in 2010 and was appointed Vice President, EMEA in 2018. He is responsible for overseeing the EMEA sales & marketing team to drive Transoft Solutions’ growth strategy in the EMEA market. In addition, Mr. Brozek oversees operations to improve business processes and applies compliance standards, policies, procedures and controls to meet EMEA regulatory requirements. He also coordinates product developments for EMEA with the global product teams.
Mr. Brozek brings a wealth of knowledge and 20 years of experience in civil engineering software. He has spent significant time working for Ing. Hubert Mader Gmbh in Austria. He is a graduate of the IT School of H&K Private Academy GmbH.
Mr. Steven Chan joined Transoft Solutions in 2007 and has been instrumental in the expansion of the civil product portfolio. He was appointed Vice President, Civil and Transportation in 2020 with the overall responsibility for driving the product vision, including the innovation, strategy, roadmap and overall product portfolio management. Mr. Chan participates in the committees of the Transportation Research Board, and Transportation Association of Canada.
Mr. Chan held positions at Westmar Consultants. He holds a B.A.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of British Columbia and holds an M.B.A. from the University of Northern British Columbia.
Mr. Charles Chung heads the innovative road safety analysis business unit at Transoft Solutions. He joined Transoft Solutions through the acquisition of Brisk Synergies of which he was the founder and CEO. With over 20 years of experience in technology entrepreneurship, market strategy, product management, and software engineering, Mr. Chung is a seasoned technology business leader, with strong experience in building effective cross-functional teams to drive highly specialized technologies to markets. He holds a few patents in storage technologies and transportation safety systems, and has several publications under his name.
Mr. Chung has a M.C.S. from the University of Waterloo and an M.B.A. in Management of Technology from Simon Fraser University.
Jeremy Ellis VP, Business Development & Operations
Dr. Jeremy Ellis joined Transoft Solutions in July 2019, following the successful acquisition of, UK based company, Keysoft Solutions which he co-founded in 1998. During his career, he has been involved with all business areas from product development, sales and marketing through to company management and business development. Following the acquisition, Dr. Ellis became a member of the Transoft Solutions’ executive team with a focus on Business Development and Operations.
Dr. Ellis holds a B.Sc. (hons) degree in Computer Science and Ph.D. awarded by the University of Hull in the UK.
Ms. Karen Giese joined Transoft Solutions in 2021, bringing 20+ years of transportation experience to the team. Her career has spanned from the highly technical to the managerial and business aspects of the transportation industry. With a highly external focus, she is responsible for developing business and strategizing growth for the US market.
Ms. Giese is a Professional Engineer in the US and holds an M.S. and B.S. in Civil Engineering (Transportation) from Iowa State University. She is active in industry associations, including ITE, ITS America, and TRB. She also sits on the Seattle Regional Mobility Innovation Center Advisory Committee, which encompasses government and industry leaders from the greater Seattle region.
Mr. Chris Milne is responsible for overseeing the global development and strategic initiatives for Transoft Solutions’ core software, infrastructure, and interface platforms. He leads a team that oversees product strategy, product management, research & development, engineering, UX design and technical support.
Since joining Transoft Solutions in 2005, Mr. Milne has held a variety of progressive management roles until he was appointed Vice President, Software Development in 2017. He holds a B.Sc. from Simon Fraser University.
Patrick Sutherland Director Regional Sales and Marketing, Americas
Mr. Patrick Sutherland is responsible for Transoft Solutions Americas regional growth strategy, customer retention program, and sales process improvements for North and South America. He leads the sales and marketing team focused on providing value to both new and existing civil engineering organizations. Mr. Sutherland also oversees the Americas Champions program building a community of engineers proficient in solutions involving the use of Transoft Solutions’ software and helping others gain that knowledge for better civil engineering industry outcomes.
Before joining Transoft Solutions in 2018, Mr. Sutherland held various sales leadership positions at Seagate Software, Crystal Decisions, Business Objects, SAP and Maximizer. He holds a B.Com. with a Major in Marketing from the University of British Columbia.
