User Subscription license is a model where a set number of Subscribed Users can access the software through their unique logins and passwords for a predetermined length of time (e.g. 12 month terms). The software can be installed on multiple workstations.
Each Subscribed User represents one individual and their login and password, which cannot be shared with other users. Software activation is an easy process and can be done over the Internet.
Why Choose the User Subscription License Option
User Subscription license offers a cost-effective way for small businesses to start with one user and grow by adding additional users. For larger organisations, it will offer more flexibility in user administration and management via the My Transoft Portal. Furthermore, it can easily handle scalability and budgeting as per the business needs defined by the number of users.

*You can login on one device at a time.
By switching to a User Subscription License (USL), you will benefit from receiving all the latest and greatest
software updates with excellent technical support, web-based admin console (license management) and more.
The USL option is available for specific products. Please see contact our sales team for more information.
Free support is only provided for USL, or perpetual licenses with MAP. When you call into technical support you
will be required to provide your license number and they will inform whether you qualify for free technical support
on that license.
Yes. While you can’t use the software on different computers at the same time, you can install the software on
more than one computer and activate (sign-in) on one workstation at a time.
Contact our sales team who can discuss the pricing options available.
Yes, a subscription license requires each workstation to have an internet connection to use the software.
However, once you have signed in successfully, the software will permit you to work offline temporarily such
as when traveling. There are no additional steps required from the user and the software will work seamlessly
without internet up to 30 days after the last login. Please contact our technical support team if there are special
circumstances that the workstation will not have an internet connection.
No, when you switch to the USL, your previous license will be invalidated, and you will be issued a new license
number. A simple workstation deployment is required to reconfigure all existing workstations to use the new license type, so you will be given 30 days of transition time to complete the conversion before your original license
is disabled.
If you have an existing Site License and you choose to upgrade to USL, you will be issued a new license of the
software. Once your order has been completed, the previous Site License will be deactivated after 30 days.
To reconfigure your workstations to use the new license, either run the Workstation installation on each machine,
or run the server installation to create a deployable MSI installer that you can push out to your users through the
active directory. If you need more than 30 days to transition, please contact Transoft Solutions technical support.
When your MAP is due for renewal, you can choose from the following options:
If you do not renew your MAP before it expires, you continue to have the right to use your perpetually licensed
software but lose access to the following benefits:
USL gives even small businesses truly enterprise-grade device management tools. Get access to all new updates
and new features along with unlimited direct telephone, email and web support and more:
If you prefer to stay on MAP, you will continue to receive the benefits of that plan, including technical
support and product updates, for as long as you continue to renew. You can move to a subscription during your next renewal period.
The process of adding a user to the portal and granting them access to USL is simple:
For very large organizations, we recommend using the invitation link option where you can distribute an invitation
link to your end-users that will allow them to self-register.
Yes, you can reassign a license to another user. Note that reassignments are meant to handle employee turnover
throughout the year and the number of reassignments allowed has a limit. You can reassign any user who has
not used the software yet in the current subscription term.
Team Subscription License (TSL) is a new cloud license option that is intended to support casual or occasional users of the software. The size of a Team Subscription License is represented as a number of allocatable seats.
Why Choose the Team Subscription License Option
While User Subscription Licenses (USL) are better for dedicated users, Team Subscription Licenses can be a good complement to these if your organization has occasional, less heavy users of the software.
HOW IT WORKS
Each user of a Team Subscription license must have an account in the My Transoft Portal to request a license. Internet access is required for this process.
When an end user starts the software product on their workstation, the software will connect to the My Transoft Portal and will determine if any of the seats are available. If they are, a seat will be allocated and dedicated to that end user for a period of 24 hours, the end user will have unrestricted access to that seat for the duration of the 24-hour period. At the end of the 24-hour period the seat allocation will automatically expire and another user will be able to claim it.
Once all the Team Subscription License seats are allocated at a given time, no other end user will be able to use that license until the 24-hour period expires and one of the seats is automatically deallocated.
A Team Subscription License is a new cloud license option that is intended to support casual or occasional users of the software and is a good complement to a User Subscription License for dedicated users.
To request a license, each user of a Team Subscription License must have internet access and an account in the My Transoft portal.
The size of a Team Subscription License is represented as a number of allocatable seats. When an end user starts the software product on their workstation, they will be connected to the My Transoft portal. If a seat is available, it will be allocated and dedicated to the end user that will have unrestricted access to that seat for a period of 24 hours. At the end of the 24-hour period, the seat allocation will automatically expire, and another user will be able to claim it.
Once all the Team Subscription License seats are allocated at a given time, the license will be unavailable until the 24-hour period expires, and one of the seats is automatically deallocated.
The My Transoft portal provides frequency indicators in the License Information section as to how often a particular user has been allocated a seat within a license. If the frequency is high, the end user is likely a good candidate to be transitioned to a dedicated User Subscription License.
If you are installing a Team Subscription license on a single workstation, start the product setup, choose Set up a workstation and enter the CD Key and license number that is displayed in my.transoftsolutions.com.
If you are installing a Team Subscription License that is used by multiple users, we recommend you run the Set up a Server option. In this option you will have the option to install the Data Sharing features (if the product supports it) and you can generate an MSI deployment that can be installed silently or pushed through Active Directory to the user’s systems.
Single Sign-on and User Provisioning will allow you to integrate the access of your end users to the portal and the software using their organizational credentials through the company’s Identity Provider.
The My Transoft portal supports the SAML 2.0 protocol which is compatible with most Identity Providers including Microsoft Azure AD, Okta, JumpCloud, OneLogin, and others.
You can also enable the SCIM 2.0 Protocol for User Provisioning if your Identity Provider supports it. User Provisioning will allow you to assign users and groups within your Identity Provider to the portal and have the user accounts automatically synchronized with the My Transoft portal.
The following features are supported through user provisioning:
Occurrences like email address changes will automatically be synchronized into the portal.
Details on setting up Single Sign-on are available in our online Help system:
To access a Team Subscription License, the user should be assigned to the license in the portal.
We recommend that you set up Single Sign-on and User Provisioning so that your end users can automatically be assigned to the portal. Team Subscription Licenses are set by default to allow auto-registration. This means that an end user that already has an account in the portal can simply run the software and get registered to the License on the first run. No additional steps are required.
Besides auto-registration, you can use any of the User Subscription License assignment options available for Team Subscription Licenses. For more information, see: https://helpdesk.transoftsolutions.com/hc/en-us/articles/360042196694-How-do-I-assign-users-to-my-license
This is a very common configuration.
Your high-occurrence users of the software should be using User Subscription Licenses, and your lower-occurrence users of the software should be using your Team Subscription License.
The recommended way to set this up is to add your entire potential userbase into the portal, deploy the workstation software on every system, and then select the Team Subscription License Auto-Registration option. After that, you should identify and manually assign only the high-occurrence users to the User Subscription License (you can also invite those users by e-mailing them a link).
With this configuration, your high-occurrence users will be dedicated to the User Subscription Licenses. Any lower-occurrence user will be automatically registered to the Team Subscription License by simply starting the program.
There is no need to be concerned about having the same person registered to both the User Subscription License and the Team Subscription License. If this situation occurs, the software will always prefer the dedicated User Subscription License.
If you want to promote a user from the Team Subscription License to the User Subscription License, you can simply assign them to the User Subscription License, and that will be their preference thereafter.
Yes, they can. However, they must have been allocated a seat shortly before their trip.
To prepare for offline use of the Team Subscription License:
Note that users who often travel and spend substantial time with no internet connection might be more suited to use a User Subscription License that will make it possible to run an application offline for up to 30 days.
