Designing for Section 278 Agreements – How to improve junctions and facilities for pedestrians and cyclists

Section 278 Agreements are legally binding documents designed to ensure that developments are designed and constructed to the expected standard of the relevant authority. Without s278 agreements, projects cannot be constructed and handed over to the authority (client). An essential component in securing this agreement is being able to prove that an appropriate cross section of users can be accommodated within project plans. This webinar will explain how to ensure safe environments through swept path analysis and how to minimise rework.

Specific topics covered will include:

– Analysing and illustrating vehicles speeds around corners
– Adding line of sight and stopping distances to swept path submissions
– How to model vehicle movements for pedestrian and cyclist advantage
– Common pitfalls when analysing vehicle swept paths
