Wilmington International Airport (ILM) embarked on a terminal improvement’s program in 2015/2016. The program included improvements to the terminal headhouse as well as development and expansion of the concourse facilities. The project did not include apron expansion due to cost limitations but in recent years, additional funding has been requested for an apron expansion project. The apron expansion project is needed to not only accommodate the concourse expansion during and after construction but provide for increased demand in remain overnight aircraft parking at ILM.
Our guest presenter Tony Dockery, President of AGD Associates LLC, has provided aircraft parking planning/layout design for the concourse expansion project and more recently the apron expansion. The focus of the webinar is recent aircraft parking planning for the apron expansion project.
